Beach Ambassadors Throws Cocktail Event For Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad

MIXED_logo_sq_blk_borderVirginia Beach, VA Saturday, February 27th: Beach Ambassadors hosted an exclusive philanthropic event at Studio 17 in Virginia Beach to benefit the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. Five Hampton Roads-based bars (Twist Martini & Association, The Public House, Croc’s 19th Street Bistro, Hell’s Kitchen-Norfolk, VA and Hot Tuna Bar & Grill) competed in a competition based on the television show ‘Chopped.’ The goal was to create the best cocktail possible using a mystery spirit and random box of ingredients provided just days before the event.  Ticket holders received unlimited samples of each drink and voted on their favorite concoction. At the end of the night, Croc’s 19th Street Bistro won for the best cocktail, creating a drink using Absolut vodka, green tea, lavender bitters, cilantro and lime.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad’s oceanfront location (Rescue 14). The money will go toward purchasing necessary equipment and supplies needed to continue providing life-saving services to the local community.

MIXED-Pic1The purchase of a $50 ticket included unlimited samples of the cocktails, local craft beer from Commonwealth Brewing, hors d’oeuvres from Java Surf Café and Espresso Bar, music from DJ El Capone professional photography and photo booth, and valet service. Only 100 tickets were sold for this exclusive event.  Tickets sold out in five days.

The Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad is an entirely donation and grant-run organization that provides life-saving services to residents and tourists of Virginia Beach. Donations help support the efforts of the individuals who give their time and talents to assure that those in need always receive immediate prehospital healthcare and transportation.

Beach Ambassadors is a grassroots effort led by Hampton Roads men and women with the ultimate goal of supporting local, Hampton-Roads based charitable organizations through the use of social and sporting events.
